[Lamongan, May 22, 2025] To commemorate the 456th anniversary of Lamongan Regency, two students in the Entrepreneurship Study Program at the University of Muhammadiyah Lamongan, Addina Haque Abdullah and Revita Dea Maisaroh, participated in the Laskar Gema Thawaf 2025 program, an innovative waqf program organized by the Lamongan Regency Government in collaboration with various social and religious institutions. Unlike previous anniversary celebrations, this year's celebration was not only ceremonial but also featured activities that directly addressed community needs, particularly in the areas of waqf and community empowerment. One of the flagship programs was Gema Wakaf, part of the Laskar Gema Thawaf 2025 initiative.

The opening and briefing of the Laskar Gema Thawaf program was held on May 22, 2025, where participants gained an in-depth understanding of the importance of productive waqf and the role of the younger generation in developing waqf-based economic potential.

Addina and Revita, representing the Entrepreneurship Study Program students, not only participated but also demonstrated their commitment to supporting the Islamic social economic movement.

The participation of Entrepreneurship Study Program students in this activity reflects the spirit of social entrepreneurship, which is part of the graduate character that the study program aims to shape. Through this involvement, students are expected to be able to apply entrepreneurial principles that are not solely profit-oriented, but also focused on the values of utility and social sustainability.

The Head of the Entrepreneurship Study Program at Muhammadiyah University of Lamongan expressed his appreciation for his students' involvement in this value-rich activity. "This is a concrete form of student contribution to a religious-based social activity that aligns with the study program's vision and Muhammadiyah values. Hopefully, this experience will enrich their insight and social awareness as future entrepreneurs," he said.

The Gema Wakaf activity, commemorating Lamongan's Anniversary, is expected to be a positive first step with a broad impact, not only in encouraging the productive waqf movement but also in developing the character of caring and competitive Lamongan youth. [Kwu-Red]
