Lamongan, September 2, 2025 – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of the University of Muhammadiyah Lamongan (UMLA) held a Student Introduction Period (Mastama) on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, to welcome new students for the 2025/2026 academic year. This lively event not only served as an introduction to the campus but also showcased a unique cultural atmosphere, with all faculty members dressed in traditional attire from various regions of Indonesia. The Mastama event, held in the UMLA FEB Hall, was attended by hundreds of new students from five study programs under the FEB's auspices: Entrepreneurship, Management, Accounting, Sharia Economics, and Digital Business.
The event was officially opened by the Dean of FEB UMLA, Mr. Suyitno, S.E., M.M., who in his remarks conveyed an important message to the new students: prepare to face the challenges of college life with a spirit of learning and organizational involvement.
"Welcome to FEB UMLA. Today is your first step on an academic journey that will shape your future. We hope you will not only focus on grades, but also be active in organizations, innovate, and contribute to society," he said. One of the highlights of this event was the use of traditional attire by the lecturers and committee members, as a symbol of diversity, nationalism, and respect for local culture. This atmosphere created a warm and enthusiastic impression for the new students, many of whom were experiencing the campus environment for the first time.
Following the opening ceremony, the event continued with an introductory session to the five study programs at FEB, led by the respective Heads of Study Programs. Students were introduced to the study programs' vision and mission, curriculum structure, academic and non-academic activities, career opportunities, and achievements of students and alumni. Furthermore, new students were invited to participate in motivational sessions, lecture simulations, and group dynamics to build a sense of togetherness and solidarity among students from across study programs. By holding this Mastama, it is hoped that new FEB UMLA students will be more prepared and confident in undergoing the academic process, as well as being able to develop themselves in the fields of science, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
