[Yogyakarta, July 16, 2025] – Muhammadiyah University of Lamongan (UMLA) participated in the 3rd International Seminar on "Entrepreneurship Sustainability," held online by the Indonesian Entrepreneurship Study Program Association (APSKI) on July 16, 2025, as part of this year's APSKI National Working Meeting (Rakernas).
In this international scientific forum, students and lecturers from the UMLA Entrepreneurship Study Program successfully presented two scientific papers addressing the issues of entrepreneurship, digital innovation, women's empowerment, and local industrial sustainability. The two titles presented were:
“Digital Financial Innovation and Women's Economic Independence: A Key to Achieving the SDGs” Authors: Elliv Hidayatul Lailiyah, Mega Barokatul Fajri, Imran Syah, Muhammad Khofid Nazarudin, and Maya Damayanti
“Creating Sustainability: Business Model Innovation for the Lamongan Batik Industry” Authors: Septy Bian Sastro, Melita Maharani Putri, Okty Trisya Rahmadani, and Noer Rafikah Zulyanti Both works reflect UMLA students' concern for sustainable development through an inclusive and locally-based entrepreneurial approach. The first study highlights the importance of digital financial innovation in supporting women's economic independence as part of efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Meanwhile, the second work contributes to the development of a sustainable business model for the batik industry in Lamongan.
"Our participation in this seminar demonstrates that UMLA students are not only active in academic activities but also care about global issues such as women's empowerment and the sustainability of local industries," said Ms. Mega, Head of the UMLA Entrepreneurship Study Program. Through this forum, UMLA strengthens its active role in national and international networks of entrepreneurship education and is committed to continuing to encourage innovation and cross-disciplinary collaboration to address future economic challenges.
