[Lamongan, January 21, 2025] — The entrepreneurial spirit resonated throughout the courtyard of SMAN 1 Sukodadi (SMANDI) during Career Day 2025, held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. The event featured the Muhammadiyah University of Lamongan (UMLA) Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Study Program as an inspiring partner in a business learning session with 12th-grade students. The keynote speaker was Imransyah, S.E., M.M., a lecturer in the UMLA Entrepreneurship Study Program, who presented a presentation on the theme "Build Your Business from a Young Age." He provided insights into the importance of developing an entrepreneurial mindset at a young age and simple strategies for starting a business, even with limited capital.
"If you have an idea and courage, those are the main assets for starting a business. Now is the time to learn, fail, and grow. Because the business world is always open to those who are willing to try," said Mr. Imransyah in the motivational session.
Equally interesting, the event also featured a SMANDI alumni who has successfully run a clothing business since they were still in school. The alumnus shared how he started a small business from home, utilizing social media, and now reaching customers in various regions. "I used to sell jerseys at school just to make extra money. But over time, things grew because I continued to learn, including participating in training and online promotions. Now, thank God, I have my own brand," said the alumnus, who has successfully motivated many of his juniors. The event was enthusiastically received by the students, who not only gained business knowledge but also direct inspiration from their seniors who have proven that young age is no barrier to entrepreneurial success.
The principal of SMANDI expressed his appreciation to UMLA and the speakers who had made a significant contribution to this activity. He hoped that activities like this could be held regularly to prepare students for the post-school world, whether through higher education or the business world.
This activity is part of the UMLA Entrepreneurship Study Program's commitment to fostering collaboration and entrepreneurship education at the high school level, while also promoting entrepreneurship education as a promising future option.
Entrepreneurship can start anywhere — even from school. With UMLA, become a creative and independent young entrepreneur! [Kwu-Red]
