As a form of community service and an effort to foster an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age, the Entrepreneurship Study Program at Muhammadiyah University of Lamongan (UMLA) held a training session titled "Learning Business Together" at Muhammadiyah 6 Paciran High School on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
This activity focused on chocolate ice cream making, a simple yet promising business product for students to develop. The training was attended by eleventh and twelfth grade students, along with several accompanying teachers.
The main resource person for this activity was Ms. Noer Rafikah Zulyanti, S.Sos., MA, a lecturer in the Entrepreneurship Study Program at UMLA. She presented on the basics of entrepreneurship, the importance of creative thinking, and simple strategies for starting a business with limited capital. In addition to the presentation, the activity also included a hands-on session on chocolate ice cream making, guided by UMLA Entrepreneurship Study Program students.
"We want students to have the courage and motivation to start entrepreneurship, even with small things they enjoy and that are easy to make," said Ms. Noer Rafikah Zulyanti in the opening session. The participants' enthusiasm was high, as evidenced by their active involvement in discussions and their enthusiasm during the hands-on chocolate ice cream making session. In addition to learning the production process, participants were also encouraged to understand simple concepts such as pricing, attractive packaging, and marketing within their local communities.
The "Learn Business Together" activity is part of the community service and entrepreneurship education program routinely conducted by the UMLA Entrepreneurship Study Program. The goal is to bring higher education closer to the community and encourage the emergence of an independent, creative, and productive young generation. [Kwu-Red]
