[Brondong, January 23, 2024] — To foster an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age, the Entrepreneurship Study Program at the University of Muhammadiyah Lamongan (UMLA) held the "Learn Business Together" (SBR) Batch 1 at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Brondong on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
This educational activity was led by Noer Rafikah Zulynti, S.Sos., M.A., a lecturer in the UMLA Entrepreneurship Study Program, who is also a practitioner and academic in the field of entrepreneurship. SBR Batch 1 aimed to introduce vocational school students to the basics of business and motivate them to start businesses, even while still in school.
With the theme "Building an Entrepreneurial Spirit from a Young Age," the activity was enthusiastically attended by students from various majors. In her presentation, Ms. Noer Rafikah encouraged participants to understand that entrepreneurship is not just about large capital, but also about the courage to seize opportunities, think creatively, and be consistent throughout the process.
"Success isn't something you wait for after graduation; it can be started now. You can start small, building on your potential. The business world is now wide open to anyone willing to learn and willing to try," said Noer Rafikah Zulynti while motivating the students. In addition to the presentation, the event also included interactive sessions and group discussions, where students were encouraged to develop simple business ideas based on local potential. Some of the interesting ideas that emerged included trendy snack businesses, handicraft products, and digital-based services. The principal of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Brondong welcomed the event and hoped the collaboration with the UMLA Entrepreneurship Study Program would continue in the form of mentoring or further training.
This Batch 1 SBR activity is part of the UMLA Entrepreneurship Study Program's ongoing community service and entrepreneurship literacy development program, which will be implemented by the UMLA Entrepreneurship Study Program in various high schools in East Java. [Kwu-Red]
