The Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Study Program at the University of Muhammadiyah Lamongan (UMLA) has taken a strategic step in its efforts to expand its global network in education and entrepreneurship. On Tuesday, July 16, 2025, the UMLA Entrepreneurship Study Program officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), a leading university in Malaysia focused on technology development and business innovation. The MoU signing took place on the UTeM campus in Malaysia, with UMLA represented by the Head of the Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Study Program, Ms. Mega Barokatul Fajri, S.E., MBA. This collaboration covers several key areas, such as student and lecturer exchange programs, joint research in digital entrepreneurship, and international collaboration on business innovation and start-up-based activities.

"This is not just a ceremonial agreement, but the beginning of a real collaboration between two institutions across borders. We want to create a global learning space for UMLA students to better prepare them to face the challenges of the international business world," said Ibu Mega after the signing. UTeM welcomed this collaboration and emphasized the importance of synergy between universities in fostering a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem in Southeast Asia. This collaboration also provides an opportunity to bring together innovative ideas from students from both countries, while paving the way for joint projects and cross-border business incubation. This collaboration is a concrete manifestation of the UMLA Entrepreneurship Study Program's commitment to implementing the campus's internationalization vision of becoming a UMLA Global University and encouraging students to develop a global perspective, not only academically but also in the competitive business world.

With this MoU, the UMLA Entrepreneurship Study Program opens broader opportunities for students to access international experiences, strengthen global competencies, and build relationships in Southeast Asia.
